Traffic Delays Expected as Crews Begin Santa Rita Road Repairs in Templeton
Traffic commuters in Templeton should expect significant delays starting this week as the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works begins essential road repairs.
Construction Schedule and Impact
Weekday construction activities are scheduled to run from August 26 through late September. Crews will work between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., utilizing large equipment and heavy trucks to haul materials along the route.
Motorists traveling on a portion of Santa Rita Road approximately 3.5 miles west of Vineyard Road can anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes during these hours.
Storm Recovery Efforts
The ongoing repairs are part of the county’s broader storm recovery program. Severe weather events in early 2023 and 2024 inflicted heavy damage on the roadway, resulting in the partial loss of a lane. Officials emphasize that completing these repairs is crucial for restoring safe travel conditions.
Drivers are strongly advised to adjust their daily commute plans and allow extra time for their journeys while the work is underway.
